Specification of Elastomeric Materials
MTI members have found that various suppliers of elastomeric components report the same property information despite significant differences in performance. Further discussion showed that standards are too open and that work is needed in this area. As a result, this project team was formed to develop a way to specify elastomers that will improve their consistency and reliability. It should be done using industry standards and specifications for the manufacture of elastomeric components.
