MTI Accepting Applications for European-based Associate Director

MTI ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR

The Materials Technology Institute (MTI) is seeking candidates for an Associate Director for our European community otherwise known as EuroTAC. The Associate Director (AD) reports to the Executive Director. He/she must be capable of functioning independently within all areas of responsibility. Weekly time commitment will vary between 25% -100% of full time, averaging at least 50% over time.

The ideal candidate will be based in Europe and will be capable of effectively communicating in the English language.  The Associate Director for EuroTAC will be responsible for facilitating the planning and execution of the Spring and Fall meetings of EuroTAC.  This position will require occasional travel to the US.  

The Associate Director must demonstrate a successful history in all aspects of project management. At MTI, the AD will work with Project Champions and team members to schedule meetings, develop proposals, evaluate contractors, and manage progress.  The AD will be instrumental in attracting new members and supporting member retention efforts.  An engineering or material science degree is preferred.  Practical process industry experience with a heavy emphasis on materials of construction is desirable.

An Associate Director must possess the ability to interact constructively with diverse personalities and cultures and establish mutual respect. The dispersed nature of the organization dictates that the Associate Director have good computer skills including word processing, e-mail, file transfers, internet transactions, etc. Working from their own home office, they must have the ability to function independently with minimal direction.
