action items submitted by Karen need more detail to move forward on:

    Actions

    • Send survey by the end of march - who to send?
    • Call a meeting with Curtis to discuss adapting the rack
    • Dale to purchase the rack and ship it to Eastman - NO see below:
      • need proposal / quote for purchase - these items are typically procured by contractor performing the work / testing
        • Dale can inquire local plastic fabrication shop (SG&P in Freeport TX) and Nalco for proposals for team review - need a diagram of the test rack for proposal to local plastic fabricator
      • Need information on the intended flow capacity of the rack - see Nalco literature:

I don't think that we can spend any money on this project until it is approved by TAC and the Board.
Also, I would like to get more information on the work that was done previously by Tony - including the results and text procedures etc.-- Dale can you send to the team or post on the Project site so that we can all review? Thanks

    Charles

The recent post of meeting minutes has what Tony sent me on previous MIC testing (as attachments) – I am waiting for Kevin Ganschow to respond if he has any additional information to share

    Hello Dale,

I appreciate the sharing of the minutes. One discussion item that I could not find captured was the addition of the Super-ferritic Stainless S44660 commonly known as SEA-CURE®.  Plymouth Tube would be pleased to provide the samples.  They would be in the 2B surface condition.

    Three comments:
    (1) My request for the literature review was from 2018 -- but thanks for putting it on the Project community site.
    (2) I do not think that having individual companies modify the test rack will be helpful in comparison of site corrosion. We need to have the same conditions of testing - flow rates, position of samples, number of samples etc to develop a complete, accurate test program.
    (3) I still believe that using a test rack similar to the one previously used would give us much better, more reproducible results. In the past, I (and a number of nickel producers) have used such racks to determine a comparison of corrosion resistance of multiple metallic alloys in flue gas desulfurization systems thruout the US -- with excellent reproducible results reported in numerous NAS (now AMPP) papers. These racks result in exposure of clean surfaces as well as crevices so that detailed corrosion information can be obtained on a lot of alloys.

Yes Chuck, I did notice the gap from when you requested the summary – that was the impetus of my search to get you a response – sorry for the delay

    To your points:

    (2) each company participating in this test will NOT modify the rack – the intend of the project team is to have Eastman trial out a "standard test rack" (such as offered by Nalco and Metal Samples – see attached) and then provide the participating companies all with identical racks and coupons

    (3) do you have information on the corrosion testing and results mentioned in this point? This may be relevant and may change the thoughts of the project once reviewed.

Thank you for your prompt response.
