Member Roles

Designated Representatives

MTI Designated Representatives (DR) serve as the official delegate of their member company. Their role is primarily to represent their company in MTI organizational voting, paying dues, and as the primary company contact. Responsibilities include: 

  • Using, encouraging use and approving access to the member area of MTI Website for information exchange. 

  • Voting for BOD candidates and on other issues at the Annual Meeting (one vote per company). 

  • Representing their company to MTI and MTI to their company. 

  • Ensuring member dues are paid. 

  • Encouraging project involvement/participation in MTI within their member company. 

  • Assuring compliance with the MTI Policy Manual by their company employees.

Vice Designated Representatives

Vice Designated Representatives (VDRs) serve as a secondary point of contact between MTI and a member company. Responsiblities of the VDR are delegated by the Designated Representative; however, the VDR is prepared to assume all roles of the DR in any circumstances:

  • Using, encouraging use and approving access to the member area of MTI Website for information exchange. 

  • Voting for BOD candidates and on other issues at the Annual Meeting (one vote per company). 

  • Representing their company to MTI and MTI to their company. 

  • Ensuring member dues are paid. 

  • Encouraging project involvement/participation in MTI within their member company. 

  • Assuring compliance with the MTI Policy Manual by their company employees.

Technical Advisory Council Representatives

Technical Advisory Council (TAC) Representatives are ambassadors of their member companies at TAC meetings. 

TAC representation is divided into three regional areas (AmeriTAC, EuroTAC and AsiaTAC). Each area is represented by one TAC rep, and up to three individuals may be appointed per company to fill each of the three regional roles.

Responsibilities include:

  • Voting for proposed projects at TAC Meetings
  • Monitoring projects and sharing progress within the company
  • Distributing MTI information to company personnel

Champions

Champions function as the project leaders of Project Development Committees (PDCs) or Project Teams. Responsibilities, with the guidance and assistance of MTI Associate Directors, include:

  • Identifing strategic projects (typically collaboratative among multiple members)
  • Creating requests for proposals
  • Guide strategic direction of projects from start to end
  • Champions work with the MTI staff project manager to ensure the project maintains high quality standards and adheres to the MTI mission.
