This project is intended to evaluate the relative corrosion resistance of unique alloys and hardfacings used in polymer extrusion equipment. A design of experiments to cover 3 chemical process environments involving alloys typically used in extruders.
The primary benefit of completing this project is the creation of consistent corrosion data that can be used to make informed choices for polymer processing equipment materials for mildly corrosive polymer processing - improving equipment reliability and uptime.
