MTI Completes Middle East FRP Training, CPI Roundtable

MTI successfully hosted it's first-ever meeting in the Middle East, April 2-4, 2019, in Al Jubail, Saudi Arabia. 1.jpg

The meeting featured a two-day training session on FRP and a day-long roundtable focused on issues faced in the Chemical Process Industries for this region with approximately 30 members and non-members in attendance.

The In-Service FRP Inspection Training, instructed by Pradip Khaladkar (MTI), was a two-day interactive training session, featuring nine training modules. The training topics included:
  • FRP Design Overview
  • Preparing for Inspection (Internal & External)
  • Quality Assurance – New Fabrication
  • Visual In-service Inspections (Part 1&2)
  • NDT & Remote Visual Inspection
  • Destructive Testing
  • Repair and Alterations
  • Fitness for Service
The CPI Roundtable session followed on the third day, and featured panels and discussion related to many of the top materials issues for attendees in this region. Topics included:
  • FRP and FRP Training
  • HTHA Testing and Evaluation
  • Chloride Stress Corrosion Cracking in Duplex Stainless Steel
  • CUI
  • Knowledge Transfer
